The Ceylon Tea

In order to fully appreciate tea, all one has to do is take a sip. And yet, if one wants to really dive into exploring different teas, discovering new terroirs will also become part of discovering new companies. Shihan reached out to me about becoming part of TeaTiff, and after reviewing their website, I was immediately drooling. If you haven’t yet tried the Sri Lanka terroir, do so by starting here. They have a great sampler pack!

Location(s) Headquarters: Based in Kandy, in the Central Province of Sri Lanka

Company Focus:

  • Single Origin Ceylon Teas directly from the Tea Factory in Sri Lanka.

Most popular company tea(s):

  • FBOPFsp tea remains a favorite among our Ceylon black tea selections with our regular customers. We also offer a highly sought-after white tea grade, Golden Tips tea, which continues to be one of our top-selling premium items.

Does the company name have a meaning?

  • We strive to be the world’s finest online Ceylon tea boutique, so we thought “The Ceylon Tea” would be the perfect name for that.

Do you participate in any charities?

  • We have been supporting local, small-scale charitable initiatives within our region.

What is your and/or your co-workers’ favorite tea(s):

  • We prefer BOPF tea and FBOP tea for our daily cups.

What are your thoughts on transparency in the tea industry:

  • Value distribution in the Sri Lankan tea industry is highly unequal, as profits made by major brokers and exporters rarely benefit tea manufacturers, small-scale growers and their employees.

What role does tea play in our lives:

  • For us, Tea is life.

TeaTiff Picks: Ceylon Silver Tips. Often overlooked and underappreciated by the majority of tea drinkers (most of whom choose black tea), white teas from Ceylon are unique and have a mouthwatering quality that will make you love them as much as Ceylon cinnamon.
