Obubu Tea

In June 2024 I attended the Japanese Tea Master Course through the Global Japanese Tea Association. During the two weeks of study, we visited many amazing places including two visits to Wazuka to harvest tea in the Obubu Tea fields. The aroma of the processing leaves is now one of my favorites. If you ever have the chance to visit Wazuka please be sure to stop by Obubu Tea. Everyone who works and interns there is amazing.

What are your thoughts on transparency in the tea industry?

  • We convey transparency by integrating the entire process from tea cultivation to production and sales. Tea lovers can visit Obubu and learn about the real tea farmers’ situation, actually visit the tea fields, and learn how tea is made and what kind of tea they can drink at our tea factory.

What role does tea play in our lives?

  • Tea plays an important role in connecting people. We can feel the importance of human connections because we are engaged in the entire process of tea production from cultivation to manufacturing production and sales. The fact that people say that Obubu’s tea tastes good is what gives us vitality for the future. We hope that people around the world will enjoy our tea!

Anything else you’d like to add?

  • You can connect with any world if you love tea. Enjoy your tea and your time with it!

TeaTiff Picks: Kyobancha. If you enjoy hojicha you will adore kyobancha. Imagine notes of maple playing along with slight roasty and toasty notes. While it is great at any time of the day, it has less caffeine due to the part of the plants used for the tea (and a bit to do with the processing) so it can be consumed at any time without one having to worry about sleep being hard to come by.
