As I was sitting out on the converted garage to lanai of our vrbo I received a phone call from an unknown number. Generally, I ignore them assuming spam but I had a good feeling that this was not. On the other end was a soft and warm voice asking if I would interview her to be put on the TeaTiff site. Linda is a jovial human being and I had the pleasure of speaking with her and interviewing her for the questions below. Thank you again Linda for the wonderful conversation and for simply picking up the phone to call me.
Website: https://www.tegotea.com/
Location(s) Headquarters: Milford, Pennsylvania
Company Focus:
- A mix of Native American plants. All natural, US-sourced, and health-focused.
Most popular company tea(s)?
- Diabetic tea
Does the company name have a meaning?
- Tego is an Abenaki word meaning wave. We feel there is nothing as strong as the force of water and a wave is continuously pushing forward.
Do you participate in any charities?
- We participate in charities on a local level and provide our products to civic organizations.
What is your and/or your co-workers’ favorite tea?
- Diabetic, it has a bitter bite but it heals the palate of the gmos and other nasty things found in current foods.
What are your thoughts on transparency in the tea industry?
- In regards to transparency, our ingredients are listed for all to see. We are a Native American family-owned company that is proud of our grassroots style. Our ingredients are hand-harvested by students in the botanical field to ensure that the original plants used, will continue to thrive without making an impact on our Earth. In fact, we consider our practices in line with how our original ancestors harvested the ingredients, from the very same plants.
What role does tea play in our lives?
- We have made friends around the world through our tea. Have helped many people. Brought me together with many people.
Anything else you’d like to add?
- The Little Englishmen. “The Little Englishman”, is the courageous adventure of a seven-year-old boy. After he accidentally boarded a ship and ended up in a foreign land, it’s his story of survival and determination, knowing that he was completely alone in the Canadian wilderness during the 1850’s. His amazing journey provided the world with Tego tea. Written by my husband who uses the pen name A.H. Verge.

TeaTiff Picks: Immuni-tea. Having two kids in elementary school means lots of germs. And while it is better now than when they were tots I find that having immunity-boosting natural foods and drinks around the house to be a big benefit.
